Followers of the Police Foundation Twitter feed (@PoliceFound) have a new source for policing news. Today, we are launching a new Twitter feed – @PolicingNews – designed to provide news about police practices, technologies, and policy developments that will bring changes to the policing world. When combined with the Police Foundation’s main Twitter feed (@PoliceFound), you’ll have the latest information about improving policing through science and innovation and the latest law enforcement news from U.S. and international media sources.
@PolicingNews will focus on priority areas for law enforcement and issues potentially impacting policing, including:
- New technologies such as drones, body worn cameras, facial recognition, robotics and scientific advancements;
- Innovation and science in policing practices, including futures research, open data initiatives, intelligence- and data-driven strategies, predictive policing, and analytics;
- Community Policing and Engagement, including news about individual community developments, best practices, critical incidents, and major issues confronting the profession; and

The Police Foundation does not attempt to filter or moderate the articles or views expressed in the articles. Coverage from many viewpoints is shared in an attempt to create awareness within the community and inform debate among those who are interested in the improvement of American policing.
