Gary Cordner is a former Commissioner with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and Co-PI on the National Police Research Platform, as well as Professor Emeritus at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and Eastern Kentucky University (EKU). Author of the book Police Administration

edition), he worked as a police officer and police chief in Maryland and obtained his PhD from Michigan State University.
Gary previously served as Dean of the College of Justice & Safety at EKU, Director of the Kentucky Regional Community Policing Institute, President of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS), Editor of the American Journal of Police and Founding Editor of Police Quarterly. He has been a judge for the annual Herman Goldstein Award for Outstanding Problem-Oriented Policing since 1996.
