Erica Richardson serves as the digital communications lead for the National Police Foundation. In her role, Erica helps manage digital content and dissemination across a variety of channels, including NPF’s social media platforms, Policing Updates monthly e-Newsletter and electronic mailing list, and website content. She also supports a variety of national-level research, training, and technical assistance projects as they relate to communications and marketing.
Erica received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a focus in Public Relations, and a minor in Spanish and concentration in Criminal Law and Justice, from the University of Maryland in College Park. While attending UMD, she interned with the Prince George’s County Police Department in the Media Relations Division as well as the University of Maryland Office of Community Engagement. In addition to her internships, Erica was selected as a teaching assistant for two upper level courses: News Writing & Reporting II—where she instructed students on writing, multimedia journalism, and blogging—and Criminal Law & Procedure, where she assisted a U.S. federal prosecutor.
Erica is proficient in social media and email marketing, blogging, and copy editing and writing.
Outside of work, Erica volunteers as an ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages) tutor and is passionate about fitness & health.
