This report first examines the nature of each of the five multidisciplinary approaches. Some communities had more structured efforts than others; some programs integrate other agencies more fully than others. The Police Foundations emphasizes that none of these programs are necessarily “ideal,” they are just models for other agencies to create their multidisciplinary program. The report then describes the implementation process that is crucial to effective implementation. These stages include: – Identification of need – Development of a work group – Idea formation – Decision – Adjustment – Action – Evaluation. This implementation guide is intended for agencies and communities interested in establishing multidisciplinary programs for responding to child sex abuse.
