Fulton County Police Officer Terence Avery Green slain in shooting ambush

The Police Foundation sends its condolences to the Fulton County (GA) Police Department and the family of Detective II Terence Avery Green, who was slain by a shooter waiting in ambush during an investigation on March 4, 2015.

Green, a 22-year veteran, was shot while trying to track down a suspect who was reportedly trying to get into neighborhood homes after firing shots and fleeing his own residence. The suspect was wounded by other officers and taken into custody.

Fulton County Police Chief Cassandra Jones said Green was a very professional officer who also believed in reaching out to the community.

“He had a bond with the community,” Jones said. “He was a very good patrol officer. He was one of those patrol officers who on a call he might take a while because he’s talking to the people.”

Jones is survived by his parents and four sons.
