In their efforts to put current events into context, journalists look to the Police Foundation as an objective, enlightened source of information on policing. Members of the media view the foundation as a valuable resource on issues such as police misconduct and use of force, community policing, fear of crime, crime rates, and a broad range of police operational and procedural questions.

Independent of traditional police membership organizations, the foundation is unconstrained by the perspectives and priorities of any one segment of policing, instead working for the benefit of the whole of American policing.

About the Police Foundation provides a brief overview of the foundation’s history and mission.

Hubert Williams, the president of the foundation, speaks out on issues important to policing and serves as a source of advice and information to police officers and executives, public officials, and members of the news media.

Press Releases and OpEds are available at this link.

A list of foundation titles in print is available at Publications.

Some foundation reports and monographs are available online in the Electronic Library.
